Duo Martin Stadtfeld & Lilian Akopova
“You shouldn’t really have to worry about the Bösendorfer. But under the wild temperament of the two pianists Lilian Akopova and Martin Stadtfeld, the beautiful-sounding grand piano was particularly challenged at the concert for four hands in the Small Golden Hall. A rapid tempo and emotional outbursts created a musical explosion that was frenetically celebrated by the audience.”

The duo Martin Stadtfeld & Lilian Akopova was formed with the international piano star Martin Stadtfeld, one of the leading Bach interpreters. He leaves the primo to his congenial partner. Their debut in Augsburg in October 2022 was met with standing ovations. Sony Classical released three digital singles with the duo at the beginning of August 2023. These are also included on Stadtfeld’s Sony Classical CD “Baroque Colors”. These are the three pieces specially arranged by Stadtfeld for 4 hands: Bach Praeludium No. 1 from the “Wohltemporiertes Clavier”, Canon, P. 37, Armide, LWV 71, Act V: Passacaglia.
